About Dewayne

Dewayne Hill was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Charleston, West Virginia. At the age of 13 he found a love for working out and bodybuilding.

He quickly learned team sports was not a great fit for his personality, so he turned all of his energy into bodybuilding. From 1995 to 2000, Dewayne competed in various bodybuilding competitions.
While he was 16 he watched substitute teacher have a profound impact on the rest of his life. The teacher and coached performed a card trick and the sparked an extreme interest. Dewayne's plan was to learn card sleights and cheat at poker, but performing for strangers became very second nature.

Six months after practicing, Dewayne started booking performance shows around his area and got his first official gig at a Church. This caught the attention of a local TV producer. Dewayne's TV appearance landed him a front page newspaper article. That ignited a flood of performances that would eventually lead to paying and funding Dewayne's college.

Majoring in K-12 education, Dewayne started working for the State Government at a graphic designer. He magic business grew too fast and he quit his government job and went into the classroom part time.
​
Dewayne quickly branded himself as THE Magician for the entire state of WV. But hunger for growth, he got a second home location in Florida and re-booted his business.
​
In 2007, Dewayne set at world record by performing the most card tricks in 60 minutes.

In 2011/2012, America's Got Talent asked Dewayne to perform, but he was cut after the first series of auditions because they wanted an illusion act. Since then, the series producers call for Dewayne to re-audition but Hill continues to decline.
​
He is forming an idea strategy for the 2019 season, but he is currently working on signing a deal with a major streaming service.
​
Dewayne now performs and travels over 100 dates per year and has transitioned more into motivational and business speaking about goals and leadership.
